THE ART OF MAKING

Sourcing

The only criteria for choosing our natural ingredients is their optimal benefits for the skin. This is why a large majority of our formulas consists in organic virgin cold-pressed vegetable oils. They are the quintessence of what nature can provide us, a concentrated, living, unaltered version of plants benefits we can manipulate. They are our beloved raw materials, which we treat gently so they we do not lose any of their incredible benefits.

Crafting

Imagine the kitchen of a gastronomic restaurant. Its role is to replicate the recipe designed by the chef, with always the same level of quality, mixing the best ingredients, so the taste is always the best.

This is the exact same way skincare products are manufactured in our lab, in the middle of France, in the quietness and slow living atmosphere of the countryside, surrounded by an ancient canal and organic fields.

The chef is the botanist heading our R&D; we sometimes call him the Druid, not only because of his grey hair but because of his encyclopedic knowledge of Nature, his way to find the best plants for certain objectives and mix them in the search of yet another highly efficient potion.

In our kitchen/laboratory, you find similar tools to weigh, heat or mix, sometimes the same ingredients, like olive, avocado or cocoa oil, and oils from nearby (like hemp) or farther away (like shea butter, bringing its marvelous be- nefits from Western Africa where the ripe fruit is picked by hand, as it has been for centuries).

In our kitchen/laboratory, you also find craftswomen and craftsmen who love the contact with these rich, scent-full virgin oils, these highly concentrated organic essential oils, these floral waters in which plants have patiently infused their virtues. Their goal is to gently combine our powerful raw materials into a cream or a serum, a cleanser or a balm, a milk or a soap, with the best possible texture, without cheating with nasty chemicals or fragrances, so we can ultimately spread them on our skin in the comfort of a bathroom.

Packaging

To continue the parallel with a gastronomic kitchen, once the recipe is just perfect, it is carefully laid out on plates and presented by hand to the clients.
We do things the same way: all our products are packaged by hand, poured slowly in opaline glass jars, Miron bottles, or aluminum tubes. Even these tubes are closed manually by a small mechanical machine...
